Hi there!
Lets go ahead and lay down the basics. I am a 23 years old and a senior in college. I love Jesus with my whole heart. My current glamorous job is as a waitress in a tavern in the middle of a tiny tourist town. To say I have lost my way a time or two would be an understatement. I graduated high school in 2012 with every intention of becoming a United States Marine; well that didn't go quite according to plan. After a ruptured appendix and a muffed up surgery, the Marine Corps wrote me a nice letter of "thanks for trying" and sent me on my way. I ended up back in Greensboro living with my parents (miserable) searching for any path out. I would up in the sweet mountains of Madison County in a tiny town called Marshall. I was working as a camp counselor for a camp called Glory Ridge. I spent my days with groups of middle and high school students doing Gods work in the community of Marshall. Countless days of roofing, flooring, smashed thumbs, mosquito bites and evenings of worship filled those three months of my life. Summer came and left all too quickly and before I knew it I was back in the classroom at Caldwell Community College. I spent the next two years earning my associates degree and desperately trying to figure out where I wanted my life to take me. Dog walker, doughnut tester and professional napper were my top choices but unfortunately I just wasn't experienced enough for any of those positions. I knew my heart would always bring me back to working with non-profits and when I was accepted to Appalachian State I knew exactly what my major would be. My more recent days have consisted of school, work, school, and more work- counting down the days until graduation, counting down the days to explore the rest of the world.
Welcome to my little corner of the world!
